Mayfest This Weekend

Kick Off the Summer Festival Season at Mayfest This Weekend

Chicago’s 22nd annual Mayfest is here! Nothing says summer in Chicago quite like a festival. This weekend will help you practice for Lollapalooza, The Taste, and all those art walks after spending winter indoors. Each year Mayfest features some of Chicago’s best in music, entertainment and food, so get ready to grab a plate and find a spot by the main stage. Come kick off summer and prepare for all of the art, food and music festivals to come.

The event begins Friday night at 5pm, with the first musicians hitting the stage at 6pm. Return Saturday for Chicago Kid’s Day from 10am-2pm. This family-focused portion of the festival strives to teach children healthy habits through engaging activities like crafts and Zumba.  Sunday’s soft opening will raise money for the Burley School.

Mayfest will take place at Ashland and Barry (3100 N. Ashland). Conveniently located near the Paulina Brown Line stop, the festival is accessible via public transportation.

The festival will be open from 5pm-10pm on Friday, May 19, and from 10am-10pm Saturday and Sunday, May 20-21.

Admission is $10.
