Chicago Latino Film Festival 4.20.17-5.4.17

The 33rd Annual Chicago Latino Film Festival Opens April 20

Mark your calendar for fifteen days of screenings at the Chicago Latino Film Festival!  More than 40,000 people and 100 films make this the largest Latino Film Fest in the country.  Held annually by the International Latino Cultural Center of Chicago, the festival shows films from more than thirty countries.  Feature-length and short films in all genres, including comedies, romances, and documentaries, will screen.

Galas are to be held on opening and closing nights.  Following the 6pm screening of Una Noche de Amor (One Night of Love) on April 20, those who purchase gala tickets will head over over to the Embassy Suites Hotel for a reception.  On May 4, a reception following the screening of Tamara at 6pm will also take place at the Embassy Suites Hotel.

Una Noche de Amor is a romantic comedy following a couple that seems to have it all but senses something isn’t quite right in their marriage.  The events of a single night force them to face their feelings.  The film is in Spanish with English subtitles.

In Tamara, the real life of Tamara Adrian is put onscreen.  Tamara faces discrimination and oppression living in a country that does not recognize her identity, and overcomes the obstacles placed in her way to ultimately become one of her nation’s top LGBTQ activists and the first transgender person elected to the National Assembly.  The film is in Spanish with English subtitles.
