Alert Alert, It’s National Thrift Store Day

In the perfect world of shopping in Chicago, there’s this little thing akin to a cult in which we refer to as “thrifting!”  Many of you may not be aware that today, August 17th, is National Thrift Store Day.  Thrifting, which differs from consignment shopping mainly because of quality and prices, is pretty common in the Chicago shopping culture.  As an avid “thrifter” myself @iva_of_girlgoodies, I enjoy seeking both vintage and brand name items for a great bargain.  As you set out to purge remember not to overload your carts with items that you have no use for, be prepared for the possibility of lengthy lines, make a “thrift wish list” prior to going out and last but not least, have some fun!  Whether you happen to be a treasure hunter, avid thrifter or a thrift store newbie, cheers to a lovely day of thrifting and Happy National Thrift Store Day!
