Curators of Summer: Nick Hansen

COS - NickMeet Nick Hansen

Name: Nick Hansen

Occupation: Entrepreneur, Fashion & Tech

Company:  Custom Suits You

Which Chicago neighborhood do you call home?  Lincoln Park

Favorite summer event in Chicago:  Every music festival, being on the water for the Air & Water show practice day and the Chicago Scene Boat Party.

Favorite SummertimeCHI hot spot: My boat, Dorado, in Lake Michigan and the rooftop pool at Soho House.

What is it about Chicago that makes you love this city?  SummertimeChi, of course!

What brought you to Chicago and why do you choose to stay here?  I grew up here and my business is here.  Full disclosure, when it’s not summer in Chicago I try to travel as much as I can, usually to sunny spots.

Share a secret that only the natives know and love:  If you can’t tell, I spend a lot of time boating, afterwards the crew and I will go over to the Half Shell for crab legs, they sell the most in the city they’re so good.  It’s a divey hidden gem up on Diversey.

Nicholas Joseph Hansen is a creative entrepreneur with a background in the technology, music and fashion industries.  He’s owned and operated Nicholas Joseph custom clothing since 2004, has founded and sold other internet companies, and originally was a digital marketing consultant for Deloitte, Cars.com, Motorola, Sharpie and others.

Nick thrives on traveling, learning, collaboration, and creativity as a means to build his network and community – supported by 10 years in the fashion industry, appointment to Chicago’s Mayor’s Fashion Council, Soho House member, Fashion Group International member, board member of the Evening Associates at the Art Institute of Chicago, working status as a studio and stage musician (House of Blues and Chicago Blues Festival), as well as continued entrepreneurial endeavors, coaching and digital startups.  In his spare time he would rather be playing music, on a beach, boat, or diving.

Congrats Nick!
